İzmir Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (İZSİAD), which comes together regularly to support education every month, collected approximately 46 thousand TL from its 300 members at the solidarity night. The donations will fill 500 children's lunchboxes.

The solidarity night, hosted by İZSİAD Board Chairman Hasan Küçükkurt, was attended by the President. President Soyer, who presented olive saplings to the business people who supported the lunch box project, said, “We have been working for four years. In these four years in a row, we have experienced many disasters, many political and economic crises. But in all these processes, İZSİAD was the first to be with us. So I thank you all. Good luck to you. Those who saw the support initiated by İZSİAD had to join that caravan. As Schopenhauer said; "The depth of a person's conscience is as much as the depth of his mind," he said.

Hasan Küçükkurt, Chairman of the Board of İZSİAD, said, “The Bronze Mayor and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality are working like a charity organization in this period of increasing poverty. It provides support to low-income students and neighborhoods. We saw this support very well in the earthquake, we saw it very well in the burning of the credit books, we saw it very well in the dormitory problems of the students.”

Lunch boxes are empty, kids don't go hungry

President Soyer, who took action to prevent the students affected by the exorbitant increase in food prices from having nutritional problems, started the support of lunch boxes with the new year. With the project, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality started to fill the lunch boxes of at least 6 thousand primary and secondary school students aged 14-50 with dried fruits and fresh fruit. Food support will contribute to the nutrition of school-age children from low-income families.
