On January 18, İzmir will host the international event titled “Living with Nature in the Mediterranean”, which deals with the future of the Mediterranean Basin in terms of cities.
The meeting “Living with Nature in the Mediterranean” organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Izmir Planning Agency (IZPA) and Aegean Municipalities Union will be held on January 18. The event will be open to everyone and free of charge.
At the event to be held at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center (AASSM), many academics, city managers and experts from 7 different countries will come together.

Academics and experts will meet in Izmir
At the meeting, the problems brought about by experiencing energy, food, migration and climate crises simultaneously and their solutions will be discussed.
The event will consist of three sessions. The first session on “Mediterranean in a Changing World” will focus on the global crisis and uncertainties of our time.
In the second session titled “Regional Heritage and Ecology in the Mediterranean”, river basins, which are the carriers of sustainable development under the leadership of regional natural and cultural heritage, will be discussed.
In the last session, "İzmir and Sustainable Development Goals", new governance plans based on the localization of these goals will be evaluated.
