The excitement of the Caravan Festival, which we organized for the second time, has come to an end. With the festival we held at the Motorsports Center on January 2-27-28, we brought together caravan and camping enthusiasts from various provinces of Turkey in Afyonkarahisar.
Those who prefer to live in harmony with nature by adopting the caravan culture and those who are curious about caravan life came together at the KaravanFest2, which was organized for the second time this year by our Municipality. In the organization we held in cooperation with the National Camping and Caravan Federation, Anadolu Motor and Nature Sports Club; Activities such as field trips, nature walks and concerts, especially sporting events, attracted great attention. Camping and caravan enthusiasts had the opportunity to experience one of Turkey's best events.
MORE THAN 200 CARAVANS PARTICIPATED
In our festival, where many services such as health and safety were provided on-site, the basic needs of our visitors such as electricity and water were also provided free of charge. Our international camping and caravan area with thermal infrastructure, which we offer as a new attraction center for the tourism of our city, hosted more than 200 caravans. Afyonkarahisar from different cities of Turkey such as Sakarya, Tekirdağ, Düzce, Antalya, İzmir, Uşak, Burdur, Kütahya, Edirne, Kırklareli, Yalova, Balıkesir, Mersin, Ankara, Konya, Aydın, İstanbul, Çanakkale, Eskişehir, Isparta, Denizli, Manisa We offered our guests dozens of activities and entertainment.
SPORTS COMPETITIONS WERE HELD
On the last day of our festival, we organized frisbee, survivor and tower game competitions for fun for all ages. The winners of the competition held in the categories of adults, children, men and women received their awards from Mahmut Nedim Akulke, Vice President of the Turkish Motorcycle Federation (TMF).
GROUP GUNDOGARKEN CONCERT
The final of the festival was held with the Grup Gündoğarken concert. The participants, who did not leave the area empty despite the cold weather, accompanied beautiful songs together and had fun to the fullest. Group Gündoğarken, one of Turkey's popular music groups, added color to the festival with a concert. Songs such as 'My Brother Came from Ankara', 'Wind', 'Flowers in My Hands', 'I'm Like I'm Like' and 'Not Without You', performed by the band Gündoğarken, added enthusiasm to the festival's enthusiasm.
A SHOW OF LOVE FROM YOUTH TO ZEYBEK PRESIDENT
Our Mayor Mehmet Zeybek, his wife Sevim Zeybek, our Vice Presidents Murat Öner and Barış Dal shared the festival enthusiasm. He came together with the young people and participants who were listening to the concert in the field. Young people showed great interest in our President Mehmet Zeybek. Commemorative photos were taken, sohbetwere made. Our President, surrounded by the young people who showed love, listened to the concert with them for a while.
In addition, our President Mehmet Zeybek, who received the thanks and congratulations of the visitors, visited the caravans and did not refuse their tea invitations. sohbet he did. “THE FIRST EVENT OF 2023 WAS HELD WITH INTENSE ATTENTION”
Making statements about KaravanFest2, our President Mehmet Zeybek stated that there was great interest and satisfaction. Our President Zeybek said, “Of course, when we say festival, young people definitely want some entertainment. For two days, we hosted our youth and caravan lovers with the concert of Mithat Körler and Grup Gündoğarken. Our second trailer festival. We realized the first one in 2022 and we have the only caravan site in Turkey which is in the Thermal Zone. Last year, more than 100 caravans attended our festival. This year, we held our festival with over 200 participants. We had planned three days, Saturday and Sunday, with Friday check-in. Participants from almost all over Turkey state that they like the venue very much and that they are very satisfied with the festival. We will continue to organize our festivals and events this year, as 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of our Republic. The first event of 2023 was more intense than we expected and expected. Our guests had the opportunity to see the beauties of our Afyon and take a tour. We would like to welcome visitors here again and again. On behalf of our city, I would like to welcome them again and hope that our festival will be beneficial.”
“WE ARE PROUD TO PROMOTE OUR CITY”
“We have expressed in every environment that Afyon is not a city to be passed through, but a city to be visited and seen and tasted the Aegean flavors. Since that day, we have started a serious promotion attack with our friends. With all our municipal employees. Last year was the 100th anniversary of the Great Offensive. Together with our Gökmen Governor, we made a plan to enter the 100th year with 100 events. After our esteemed Governor was appointed to Kayseri as of May, we completed 120 – 130 events. We are proud because we are promoting our city. Together with our friends, we are striving with all our might to become a brand city. When we visit our friends who participated in our caravan festival, they say that they are very pleased, and hopefully they will participate again next year with more and more intense participation. “WE HAVE SIGNED A FIRST”
Thanking our Mayor Mehmet Zeybek for his support, Turkish Motorcycle Federation (TMF) Vice President Mahmut Nedim Akulke stated that another first was achieved. Akulke said, “We broke new ground once again in Afyonkarahisar. With the great support of our Afyonkarahisar Municipality and Afyonkarahisar Governorship, the organization we held for the first time last year hosted nearly 100 caravans. It was an organization we did in snow and winter. It really attracted an incredible amount of attention and relevance. This year we did the second one, it was actually the product of a long work. Of course, 2023 is very important for us, very important for our country. The importance of 2023 and the 100th anniversary of the Republic increased a thousand times for us, especially when it came to Afyon and the lands where victory was won. With that responsibility, we said in January, with our Mayor, that we should light the fire of the 100th anniversary again in Afyonkarahisar. Thank you to all caravan lovers here. The guests, who participated with their caravans of more than 200, visited all the beauties of Afyonkarahisar, its ruins, Ayazini, and the historical Uzun bazaar. Really amazing feedback. There are also returns across the country. This made us very satisfied and motivated. If we can bring 200 – 250 caravans here in January, it is a great success for us.”
“SPECIALIZATION FAIR WILL BE HELD”
“We had a goal. To realize the Specialization Fair in Afyonkarahisar. Perhaps God will grant it to us. We want to combine the caravan festival with the specialization fair and organize Turkey's largest caravan fair in Afyonkarahisar. Here I am calling out to all stakeholders, all NGOs, everyone. Let's bring a specialization fair to Afyonkarahisar together. Because we now have such an infrastructure. We organized winter games and alternatively motivation, team games and children's games. We had a very different trailer festival. Hopefully, as I said before, we want to continue it in the coming years. Afyonkarahisar's victory is important. I would like to thank our esteemed Mayor Mehmet Zeybek and his team, who created this environment that supported the participants and us.”
