Samsun's Economy Will Get Stronger With New OIZs

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir stated that the city is in a very good position in terms of industrial areas and private sector investments, “We are renewing and enlarging our existing OIZs on the one hand, and renewing and strengthening their infrastructure on the other. We are doing everything we can to strengthen Samsun's economy, and we will continue to do so.”
Samsun is becoming the center of attraction of the Black Sea Region with its developing and growing industry. The city, which has made a name for itself in the national and international arena with the investments of the Metropolitan Municipality, the support it provides to industrialists and entrepreneurs in every field, attracts great attention from the private sector with its transportation, geography and climate advantages.

LAND ALLOCATIONS CONTINUE

Making great efforts to meet the increasing investment area demands of the companies, the Metropolitan Municipality continues its activities in the organized industrial zones in cooperation with the governorship. The municipality, which has renewed the infrastructure of the Central OIZ, where there is no area to invest, continues the land allocation transactions in the OIZs in Havza – Bekgın, Bafra, Kavak and Çarşamba.

NEW OSB'S ON THE WAY

Enlarging the investment area of ​​7 organized industrial zones in the city and increasing the comfort of transportation with the production of quality concrete roads, the Metropolitan Municipality is also trying to put Terme OIZ, Vezirköprü Mixed OIZ, Agricultural Specialized Livestock OIZ, Bafra Agricultural Specialized Greenhouse OIZs into operation until 2024.

Evaluating the 2022 exports of the city, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “Our city has caught a very serious upward trend in exports. Our exports, which were 2002 million dollars in 36, increased 2022 times in 30 and reached 1 billion 171 million 545 thousand dollars. This is an important achievement. We are 20th in Turkey's export ranking. SMEs accounted for 40 percent of total exports. Our SMEs showed once again that they have a very important place in production and export. For this reason, I congratulate all our business people and employees who have a share and effort in success. The figures show us that we should pay more attention to OIZs, infrastructure, innovation and technology, invest and work.”

SAMSUN'S ECONOMY WILL STRENGTHEN

Referring to the investments in the organized industrial zones, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Demir said, “We are living in a period where we realize our potentials through central government policies, ministry, public and local government investments. Looking ahead, I hope we will make significant strides. We are in a very good position in terms of industrial areas and private sector investments. On the one hand, we revise and enlarge our existing OIZs, on the other hand, we renew and strengthen their infrastructure. In addition, Vezirköprü Mixed OIZ was established. A tender will be made and construction will begin within the year. Livestock and Greenhouse OIZs will also be established. When it comes to life, private sector investments will increase more and significant contributions will be made to production, employment and exports. We are doing everything we can to strengthen Samsun's economy, and we will continue to do so.”
