UV printing technologies specialist swissQprint became the focus of attention of visitors with its surprise models and new generation solutions at FESPA Global Print Expo 31 (FESPA GPE 3), held in Berlin between 2022 May – 2022 June. Represented by Pigment Reklam in the Turkish market, swissQprint exhibited its 4th generation flatbed printing models Nyala 4, Impala 4 and Oryx 4, which it launched six months ago, at an important global fair for the first time after the pandemic. The surprise of swissQprint for FESPA visitors was Kudu, the new member of the flatbed printers family. Equipped with brand new features, Kudu offers an impressive combination of high productivity and premium build quality.
Reminding that the fair has not been held since FESPA GPE 2019 due to the pandemic, Pigment Reklam Company Owner Serkan Çağlıyan said that all exhibitors and visitors were very excited at this year's event. Saying that the swissQprint booth has become one of the centers that attract the attention of the visitors during the fair, Çağlıyan shared that besides the new UV LED model Kudu, other 4th generation flatbed printers and roll-to-roll UV printer Karibu attracted attention. Çağlıyan also stated that the total solution that enables printing on glass surfaces without primer with UV flatbed printers was also launched at the fair.
Kudu has a new UV-LED flatbed system design
Complementing swissQprint's current 4th generation flatbed series Nyala, Impala and Oryx, Kudu UV LED printing machine offers high print quality and efficiency with its 300 m2/hour printing speed, 3,2 x 2 meters width and resolution up to 1350 dpi. provides together. Equipped with the latest printhead technology for high print quality, Kudu is based on a newly designed mechanical foundation. Working with a linear drive, this model achieves precise droplet placement power even at high speeds with this feature, which creates a noticeable difference in print quality. Kudu also features the Type Switch vacuum feature found in swissQprint's other flatbed and roll-to-roll presses. The printing machine, which is very easy to use, also has 260 compartments, allowing the operator to make a simpler and more careful vacuum control. Kudu, which has a single or double roll option, also offers uninterrupted printing with its Tandem feature.
Although Kudu is a flatbed printer, it also has a roll-to-roll printing option like other swissQprint printers. With its 3,2m wide roll-to-roll printing power, Kudu expands its capacity to work with different materials and its application variety. Acting as a cockpit for the operator, swissQprint's original Lory software provides control. The virtual flatbed graphical user interface is designed for intuitive and secure use.

The improvements in Kudu are not only limited to the machine, the UV paint set used also includes many innovations. The newly developed Greenguard Gold certified universal UV paint set, VOC and NVC free, has strong adhesion to acrylic, aluminum composite panels, wood, banners, polyester, polycarbonate, polystyrene (rigid foam), PVC, vinyl films, flexible foam panels and more. . For Kudu, which is the first model to have 10 freely configurable color channels, this color richness means more application areas. In addition to the standard process colors CMYK; three light colors (light cyan, light magenta and light black), white paint for the substrate, lacquer for effects and primary paint for surfaces such as glass and metal, orange and two neon colors (neon yellow) that expand the application power for works in corporate colors and neon pink) can be arranged as desired in Kudu's 10 color channels.
