Protection Group of Companies, a 100 percent domestic capital company of the chemical industry and one of the leading institutions of the chemical industry, succeeded in producing the active ingredient Acetamiprid domestically, after the production of Benfluralin and Copper oxychloride plant protection product active substances in 2021. With the production of this fully imported active substance in Turkey for the first time, it is aimed to prevent an annual import of approximately 20 million dollars, while it aims to take its place in the global market with the steps to be taken towards export.
Protection Group of Companies, one of the leading companies in our country in the production of plant protection products and breaking new ground in this field, successfully produced the fully imported plant protection product active ingredient. Protection, which previously developed active substances such as Benfluralin, Copper oxychloride, locally; succeeded in producing the active ingredient Acetamiprid, which is produced through complex reactions, with 99 percent purity. Acetamiprid, which is one of the most used active substances in the insecticide group in the world, is used in many herbal products that are strategically important for Turkey.

Şükrü Kemal ARACI, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Protection Companies Group, stating that they are producing active substances at European standards with completely domestic means, said, “Chinese companies are the largest producer of this technical substance. When we started active substance production, this product was our most important project. We are now able to produce the 99 percent pure Acetamiprid active substance, which is the European standard.” he said.

Emphasizing that acetamiprid is a strategic asset, Şükrü Kemal ARACI said, “This is the first time such a plant protection product active ingredient is produced in Turkey at this level. In fact, the importance of this project emerges from here. Production is carried out as a result of reactions and purification processes that take place in more than one step. The production of this product, which is used extensively in important agricultural products such as cotton, pistachio, cherry, peach, apple pear, vineyard, tomato, pepper, cucumber, eggplant, watermelon, with domestic means in our country, increases the importance of this project even more.” used the expressions.
IMPORTS OF 20 MILLION DOLLARS WILL BE AVOIDED
Şükrü Kemal ARACI stated that the number of employees with high technical knowledge and competence increased after establishing the studies on the production project, and this situation constitutes one of the most important milestones for other active substance projects that will end Turkey's dependence on foreign sources, and continued his statement:
“As Turkey, we import 1000 tons of products per year. This is a loss of 20 million dollars. In the future, we will be in a position to meet the entire amount of this amount.
Acetamiprid's contribution to the country's economy is enormous. With the feasibility studies we have done, we will realize this production at a price below the supply price we provide from China. One of the most important advantages we have achieved is that we will be freed from dependence on imported products. While we put an end to the dependence on imported products with 100% domestically produced active substances that we offer to Turkish agriculture, we will ensure that our farmers meet their needs both with less cost and in a faster and easier way.
