TUBITAK Rail Vehicle platform and uses the Power Rail Vehicle Industry Inc Turkey (TÜRASAŞ) shunting locomotive designed by 7 KARDEMİR delivery took place. The delivery was announced on TÜBİTAK RUTE's social media account.
Diesel electric 7 maneuver locomotives were produced with local and national facilities. TUBITAK RUTE design was equipped with traction systems. TÜRASAŞ's DE11000 locomotives also carry TÜBİTAK RUTE design traction systems.
The design includes traction converter, traction control unit and cooling unit. The achievements obtained in this design, which is an indicator of research center-public-industry cooperation, are as follows:

- Slip control
- Diesel engine speed control
- Alternator excitation check
- Surge protection
- Providing auxiliary power
- Liquid cooling system
Turkey's increasing need for rail investment in the coming period as a result of the rail system tools will be further increased. The widespread use of rail system vehicles both in the city and across cities highlights the need for fast, reliable, comfortable and energy-efficient transportation. The importance of electrical-electronic, control and communication technology-based electronic components, which play a critical role with vehicle needs, is increasing day by day. In the new generation rail system vehicles, advanced technology components such as the train control and management system and the distributed traction system stand out as critical components. Rail Vehicle Technologies Group designs and develops these critical components nationally.
At the meeting of the TÜBİTAK Board of Directors dated 12/10/2019 and numbered 13, it was decided to establish the TÜBİTAK Rail Transport Technologies Institute (RUTE) as an institute directly affiliated with the TÜBİTAK Presidency.
Founded in TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus, the Institute follows the developments in the world and carries out studies to make our country a leader in the field of safer, faster and more efficient rail transportation technologies. For this purpose, the institute puts forth current research topics in the field of rail transportation technologies. It carries out research and development projects in which these technologies are nationally designed. The Institute also cooperates with international equivalent research institutions and coordinates technology transfer studies.
TÜBİTAK RUTE aims to serve as a reference center in our country in cooperation with universities and other institutions and organizations by providing research, development and high quality engineering services required by public and private sector organizations.
