Environmentally Friendly Buses in Kocaeli Become a Source of Savings

Examples of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in Turkey with the environmentalist approach and continues to be a pioneer municipalities. The Metropolitan Municipality, which started the project for conversion to natural gas vehicles in 2015, renewed all public transportation vehicles of the municipality with natural gas vehicles as of February 1, 2016. During this period, natural gas vehicles and 53 million kilometers traveled. 31 million liters of natural gas was consumed. If these vehicles had diesel fuel, they would have consumed a million liters of diesel. To date, natural gas consumption was paid 25 million pounds. But since the start of the case study, if these vehicles had done this service with diesel vehicles, it would be about 33 million 126 thousand pounds fuel consumption.
