Continuing its activities under the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department, the Institute started a new era for Istanbul İSMEK, Arnavutköy Bakery and Pastry and Fashion Schools. Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan summarized this investment in his speech at the opening ceremony of the schools that were put into service in the complex where the Ahmet İsvan Public Bread Factory is located in Hadımköy: The teams that meet Istanbul’s need for service continue to carry out their duties day and night.
ASLAN: WE HAVE COMPLETELY RENEWED İSMEK FACE
Reminding that they opened the Bakery, Pastry and Fashion Schools on a meaningful day, on the occasion of November 24, Teachers’ Day, Aslan came forward with the following words while sharing Ekrem Mayor’s vision for Istanbul: We work with the goal of a city that makes children happy, women are safe and employed, and young people have a carefree future. Stating that they produced solutions for unemployment and completely renewed İSMEK, Aslan stated that they updated the curriculum according to the requirements of the age and diversified their professional fields.
WE WORK FOR ALL SECTIONS OF OUR SOCIETY
Emphasizing that Institute Istanbul İSMEK continues on its way with its new face, Aslan emphasized the areas of focus and employment opportunities in accordance with the locations of the training centers. Stating that the projects are accessible not only for women and young people but also for male participants, it was stated in the speech that families will become stronger and Istanbul and Türkiye will be happy.
WE CANNOT REACH THE GROUNDBREAKING OPENINGS
Stating that they rebuilt a school affected by the earthquake in Elazığ by continuing their understanding of services and populist politics and established a high school similar to a university campus by spending 742 million TL, the administrators also reminded of new investments in Yozgat, Çayıralan and Mecitözü. It was stated that openings for the public, such as the girls’ dormitory in Şişli, continue to increase, and infrastructure projects such as clean water treatment and wastewater facilities are also progressing rapidly.
PASTRY BAKERY SCHOOL
The trainings offered at Istanbul İSMEK Pastry and Baking School, the completed Institute of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, will be under the following headings: Cook Apprentice, Baklava Making, Boutique Chocolate Preparation, World Cuisine, Home Pizza Making Workshop, Sushi Making Techniques Workshop, Special Cake Types Workshop and Fresh Cake Making.
FASHION SCHOOL
The following trainings are given at the Fashion School located in the same building: Computerized Clothing Pattern Preparation (Gerber), Computerized Modeling (PolyPattern), Basic Processes in Clothing Production, Practical Clothing Pattern Preparation, Practical Outerwear Pattern Preparation, Practical Outerwear Sewing and Style Consultancy Beginning Level. The Fashion School, which has currently started with 7 programs, aims to reach 17 programs by the end of the semester.
