Sharing information about the new directive prepared to meet equal opportunities in vocational education and facilitate access, Karagöz said, “In line with our new directive, we are implementing 4 new school programs, including regional, specialization, intra-sector and sector-integrated, to facilitate the employment of vocational high school students anywhere in Turkey. We are not defining new school types here, we are introducing new school education models within the existing structure of vocational training centers and vocational and technical Anatolian high schools. "As a result, vocational and technical education institutions will be able to renew themselves, integrate into changing and transforming systems, meet the need for qualified workforce demanded by the sector, and facilitate the employment of students as a result of the knowledge and skills they have acquired," he said.

General Manager Karagöz introduced the program called "regional school", which will initiate student mobility to the regions where the sector density is located, as follows:

“Our regional schools will be in places where businesses are concentrated and will have hostels. We will open new quotas in our regional schools for our 11th grade students who cannot fully access business education. If these students are placed based on their success, they will benefit from the accommodation facility of the school and receive all their education, including business education, in these schools. Thus, we will implement vocational training in enterprises in 11th grades.”

VOCATIONAL CLUSTERS WILL BE CREATED IN SPECIALIZED SCHOOLS

Stating that they provide education in 53 branches in 114 fields in vocational high schools, Karagöz stated that they will create "specialization" schools within these fields by creating vocational clusters that support each other and can be in the same educational environments. Stating that R&D activities related to vocational technical education will be carried out at the same time with the specialized schools, which will ensure more effective and efficient use of educational environments, Karagöz said that they will strengthen the teaching programs regarding vocational education with the experiences of the schools. Karagöz noted that in-service training will also be provided for field teachers in specialized schools.
