The Economics Congress of the Second Century Will Host Six Different Exhibitions

Organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality on March 15-21 with the slogan of "Invitation to Innovation", the Second Century Economics Congress will host six different exhibitions.

Exhibitions at AASSM and Bıçakçı Han

Organized with the title of “Invitation to Change”, the “İzmir Economics Congress 1923” exhibition will meet with art lovers at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center (AASSM). The exhibition includes the first Izmir Economics Congress held in 1923 and many photographs of the process on the way to the congress. Each design surface of “Lingua Franca”, which was organized under the title of “Invitation to Multiplicity and Unity” and will be exhibited at AASSM, was conceived as a wall in the house of a Levantine family living in Izmir. The exhibition, which has a symbolic expression in this way, offers a view of the commercial life, social life and cultures of the Levantines, one of the most concrete examples of living in harmony, the “nation” without a country.

Many photographs of Turkey such as farmers, port cities, monuments and underwater riches will be presented to art lovers in the “Photographs of Turkey” exhibition, which will be exhibited at the congress venues AASSM and Bıçakçı Han. “Fault Line”, which is about the earthquake disaster that happened on February 6 and affected 11 provinces, will be exhibited at AASSM. Paintings and models made by children in the Children's Workshops organized in partnership with UNICEF will meet with the participants at the Children's Exhibition at AASSM.

Ömer Çam has selected many concepts such as economics, production, consumption, investment and monetary relations with 30 cartoons. Within the scope of the exhibition, interesting cartoons can be seen at Bıçakçı Han between March 15-21.
