IMM Opens Cebeci Logistics Center to be Used in Possible Earthquake

İBB opened the largest logistics center in Sultangazi, which can be used during and after possible earthquakes. Speaking at the opening of Cebeci Logistics Center, IBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu“The stronger each institution, the stronger the state. The stronger and more reliable the Red Crescent General Manager is, the stronger and more reliable the President becomes. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has the same concept. The stronger we are, the more we become an important part of a mechanism that strengthens our state. If the AFAD General Manager or the AFAD process is competently managed and has a system, yes, the President is felt as possessive and powerful. The state is only as strong as its weakest link. The state is strong against disasters, not against its citizens. State; becomes strong against crises and problems. Is there an antidote to the disease of gathering or concentrating all the power of the state in a single center? Has. What is it name? It is a strong democracy," he said.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) opened the biggest logistics center that can be used during and after possible earthquakes in Sultangazi Cebeci District as part of the “300 Projects in 300 Days” marathon. The opening of Cebeci Logistics Center, one of the most important examples of the "Urban Built Environment, Transportation and Infrastructure" and "Economy and Development" titles announced by IMM in its 2050 vision, President Ekrem İmamoğlu with the participation of Beylikdüzü Mayor Mehmet Murat Çalık and Kartal Mayor Gökhan Yüksel. At the ceremony held for the opening, IMM Deputy Secretary General Arif Gürkan Alpay and İmamoğlu made speeches, respectively. The headlines of İmamoğlu's speech were as follows:

IBB Activates Cebeci Logistics Center to be Used in Possible Earthquake

“WE ARE BUILDING A POWERFUL SIMILE IN TUZLA”

“We are going through a painful period as a nation. Perhaps the most important motto of today should be to learn from our experiences, to learn lessons and to be cautious so that the process does not cause other pain in the future. It's time to take steps not to save the day or to manage the situation, but to save the future, it's already past. In this respect, we have to design a process for multidimensional solutions. We desperately need this determination. The logistics center is very important. As of the moment I saw the finished version of this place, I feel the value of doing and starting a strong similar one in Tuzla. We will bring together a strong logistics center in Tuzla with the people of Istanbul. These areas provide very high-level functions, especially in the management of an earthquake-based period. I would like to state that we care about such investments, and that we are looking for 'How can we achieve multiple benefits' in every step we take.”

“OUR ECONOMY HAS TO BE STRONG IF WE WANT TO BUILD AN EARTHQUAKE-RESISTANT CITY”

“I mentioned that we want to heal the wounds of the earthquake quickly and permanently. If we want to ensure such a process, we must implement certain conditions in parallel. For example; Our economy has to be strong, if we want to create an earthquake-resistant city, a resilient country. We all know that our state has to be very strong if we want to be prepared for new disasters. Of course, there is the infrastructure for the state to be strong; Our state is strong with its rules, institutions and all its administrative structure. If you only strengthen one of the links that make up this chain and neglect the other links, you will weaken the whole chain. At the most critical moment, this weakness emerges and pays a great price. That's why they say, 'A chain is only as strong as its weakest link'. This is exactly how the state should be defined. The state is a chain of institutions, a holistic organization in which links are linked and should never have a weak link.”

“THE STRONG EACH INSTITUTION IS, THE STRONG THE STATE”

“The stronger each institution, the stronger the state. The stronger and more reliable the Red Crescent General Manager is, the stronger and more reliable the President becomes. This is very important. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has the same concept. The stronger we are, the more we become an important part of a mechanism that strengthens our state. Well, the more the AFAD General Manager or the AFAD process is competently managed and has a system, yes, the President is felt as possessive and powerful. This is the state chain. The state is only as strong as its weakest link. This is how we look at this holistic organizational chart, at every stage and in every dimension. This is how we look at our Metropolitan Municipality. The state is strong against disasters, not against its citizens. The state stands in a sacred place for all of us, not showing its strength against its citizens, but showing its strength against disasters and making them feel prepared. State; becomes strong against crises and problems.”

TURKEY HAS A DISEASE WHICH IS WEAKING THE ECONOMY”

“Unfortunately, Turkey is experiencing a disease that weakens the economy and weakens our state. This is really important. It is imperative that we raise this together, eliminate these weaknesses, raise and strengthen our state. Yes, unfortunately, the earthquake destroyed us, but these diseases and these deficiencies have made us so sad, annoyed and disappointed. We must fix this together. We have to analyze the problem and those responsible and solve it together. But we also have to make the following analysis: The most important problem our state is experiencing is that if you gather all the power in one hand, if you gather it in one center, you will start the underlying disease and evil from there. If you have not strengthened your belief and trust in every individual in your organization with a mechanism, a network of responsibility, an institutionalism, the problem starts from there. The power gathered in a single hand, in a single person, in a single individual, is actually the beginning of the disease. When we look at the whole of the problems we experienced during the earthquake process, you live and see the most troublesome moments, the intersections where the problems where the mechanisms of not being able to make decisions start, in exactly this identity and these principles.”

“THE ANTIDOSE TO THE DISEASE: STRONG DEMOCRACY”

“Actually, is there an antidote to the disease of gathering all the power of the state in one hand, in one center or concentrating it? Has. What is it name? It is a strong democracy. It is merit. It is the concept of leaving the job to the professionals. The antidote is the sharing of power and authority by all levels within that holistic organizational chart. The cure for this disease is not individuals, but the existence of institutions working in cooperation and harmony. This should be the basic principle of the improvement move and the move that we need to put forward after May 14th, this will be it. We have to bring a strong and meritorious process to our country quickly. Our people at every level of our country are valuable. From governors to general managers, people at all levels of the bureaucracy are valuable. Because this nation, this state, millions of our people have worked hard. He taught, educated, sent abroad, gained work experience.”

“YOU BY PRINTING THE PEOPLE YOU WORK WITH…”

“One of the moments in my life when I feel most rich while managing the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is the feeling of confidence that I am with 90 thousand employees and the presence of those people. The power that I have gained from the endless trust I have in each of them with their own character, their own knowledge, their own merits is completely different. Because when you give each person the respect he deserves, the care he deserves, the opportunity he deserves, to the tremendous experiences he has gained in his own private life map, on his journey, there will never be a wrong path for you. But if you define a process, a mechanism where only your word is valid, by emphasizing the people you work with, believe me, that mechanism is pregnant with all kinds of risks. So, when you urgently save our country and institutions from this disease, and create a mechanism that accepts our country and state with all its richness, from east to west, south to north, from the east to the west, from the south to the north, from the lifestyle to the ethnic origin, regardless of the people of this beautiful paradise homeland, you will find that this beautiful, heavenly homeland will belong to you. Its depth and wealth bring 86 million people to a completely different place in the world.”

“TOGETHER WITH THE MANAGEMENT APPROACH THAT WILL CHANGE AFTER MAY 14…”

“This is why I say that it is our great responsibility to build a strong cooperation all over Turkey. Wouldn't it be nice to have a strong cooperation in 81 provinces, a strong cooperation from the municipality to the government? To be able to work together without saying 'you, me', without discrimination, without dividing with political parties; Consider where it can take us to show the virtue of working together with a pickaxe, shovel, dozer, excavator, mind and knowledge. Find out together how it can overcome all problems all over Turkey with its government and municipality, with a strong state mechanism focused on the same goal. Here, together with the management approach that will change after 14 May, with the steps we have taken and will take in Istanbul on disaster preparedness, by integrating the institutions, by integrating them, by thinking together, by thinking together, together with the steps we have taken and will take in Istanbul, relentless, aimless Without looking back and saying, 'I wonder what he is saying', without looking up and waiting for 'I wonder what he will say', just calculate how much danger a mechanism that acts with the authority given to it, with its intelligence and knowledge, will protect us from and carry us to a bright future.”

“I SAY AS A PEOPLE; UNTIL THAT DAY, NO STOP, NO REST…”

“In order to reach this bright moment, I say clearly, I have always said, as a soldier I say; until that day, there is no stopping, no rest. There is a lot of work, there is to give our nation the environment it deserves. I am a traveler of this road. Of course, we invite our nation to this path. We have absolute trust in our esteemed President and Presidential candidate, Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. With this determination, we will take steps in everything we do, taking into account every disaster that awaits us, and shape our projects accordingly. We will carry out a great mobilization to make our Istanbul and every part of our country resistant and strong against disasters. We all know that earthquakes exist. But we also have to know that the earthquake and disaster alone did not kill our people. Yes; Earthquake is destiny. But the existence of buildings that are killing our people is not destiny. We unfortunately made it with our hands as humans. We will return from our mistakes, we will correct our shortcomings. And from now on, we will not allow any mistakes to be made.”

“I BELIEVE OUR SUCCESS WILL WRITE HISTORY”

“The Cebeci Logistics Center we opened today is one of the pillars of this understanding in Istanbul. It will be used as a logistics center for the moment and after the earthquake, and it will be an important mission with innovations in order to have a stronger strategy, especially with the experiences we have gained from our earthquake experiences and recent processes. Of course, the fact that it has a much stronger capacity compared to the existing structures will enable our Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to bring new spaces at different points to the IMM. In these areas, we will share with you what problems we can solve for the needs of the people of Istanbul, and what new services we provide with these additional areas. Within the scope of 300 Projects in 300 Days, we continue our activities and projects in every part of Istanbul, without any political discrimination. As an important responsibility of this age, we continue to work diligently in every parameter that has made cities a mission, to strengthen our Istanbul against economic crises, social problems and disasters. We are strengthening Istanbul with investments. Despite all the problems, I believe that our achievements will be written in history, with the determination and contribution of our 16 million people as a nation, despite everything that has been experienced in all this time, from the pandemic to the economic crisis, from political crises to oppressive practices in Istanbul, the most investing city in Istanbul.”

“OUR BEAUTIFUL BUDGET COME FROM THE CITIZEN, IT GOES TO THE CITIZEN”

“Our budget is clean and fertile. Because our budget has a journey; very precious. It comes from the citizen, goes to the citizen. The roadmap of our budget is such a roadmap. In this respect, we have to activate a process that will raise our country with our clean budgets and fertile budgets in the strongest possible way. Turkey has to be very strong. Every city of our country has to be very strong. Of course, Istanbul, which is the locomotive of this, has to be a very strong city with all its districts. With these feelings, I wish this precious Cebeci Logistics center to bring good luck to our Istanbul, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and Sultangazi district, and I would like to give good news to all of you, together with all our works like this project, that I believe that the future will catch up with us with the principle of 'Everything will be very good'. ”

CEBECI LOGISTICS CENTER IS POSITIONED IN A KEY POINT

Cebeci Logistics Center, which is established on an area of 27 thousand square meters and can provide faster service in accordance with earthquake regulations, allows the storage of all materials that may be needed with its warehouse and 150 thousand cubic meters of volume capacity. In the center, which is located close to the key points of transportation, a capacity suitable for storing 9 pallets was created, while a flammable combustible material storage building was built. The center, which has an open car park for 100 vehicles, was planned to play an important role in the logistics network of Istanbul during and after the earthquake. The logistics center, where 106 trucks can be loaded and unloaded at the same time, is very close to the North Marmara highway, in compliance with earthquake regulations, ground surveys have been made and it has all the features it needs to carry.
