Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. The disaster vehicle, which was implemented 2 years ago with the instructions of Memduh Büyükkılıç and was designed from a scrap bus so that the personnel in charge of disaster situations could make their stay in a healthier way during the day they spent at the scene, served the fire crews for 17 days.

In 2021, a scrap bus was converted into a natural disaster accommodation vehicle by the Machinery Supply Maintenance and Repair Department of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality so that the personnel in charge of disaster situations such as earthquakes and floods could make their stay in a healthier way during the day they spent at the scene.

Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, in his statement on the subject, reminded that after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department teams were assigned to the region.

Stating that the disaster vehicle also facilitates crisis management in the earthquake area, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, “Our mobile accommodation disaster vehicle provided great convenience in meeting the needs of the personnel assigned in the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, such as food, shelter and accommodation in the disaster area. For 17 days, our teams were provided with a healthier accommodation opportunity in the disaster vehicle.”

Stating that the design of the project is a completely domestic and national project, Mayor Büyükkılıç emphasized that the teams carry out more active work in the region thanks to the disaster vehicle with its water tank, sink, toilet, bathroom, beds, kitchen, resting area and the assistant driver next to the steering wheel.

President Büyükkılıç stated that the disaster vehicle was designed to include an oven, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, air conditioner, bunk bed, toilet bowl and bathroom suite.

Büyükkılıç added that heroic firefighters rescued 13 citizens alive in the earthquake zone with 71 vehicles, 37 personnel and search and rescue efforts.
