Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yusuf Alemdar announced his first action after the election. Mayor Alemdar announced that they decided to apply a 20 percent discount on the water used for housing and that the decision will come into force after the first council meeting.

Mayor Alemdar said, “We decided to apply a 20 percent discount on water to contribute to the welfare of our citizens. As we know, people of Sakarya drink the most delicious water in Turkey. With this decision, our water, which has the highest quality among all cities, will now reach our homes at affordable prices. Our goal is to be one of the municipalities that offer water to its citizens at the most affordable price. We have taken the necessary steps, hopefully we will decide on the discount we apply for water used at home in the May assembly. "May it be beneficial to each of our citizens," he said.

Emphasizing that they will continue to take steps to make life easier in the economy, social life and in every field, Mayor Alemdar said: “We will work to ensure that our citizens benefit from all the beautiful aspects of our city, which is a paradise with its greenery, nature and natural resources. We aim to offer the opportunities in social life, economy and all areas of life to our citizens in the most appropriate way. Hopefully we will see examples of this in many areas in the near future.”
The decision is expected to come into force after the parliamentary meeting.
