Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. The mobilization initiated by Mehmet Hilmi Güler to diversify agricultural economic income sources continues. Within the scope of the studies, “Blue Berry Cultivation Training Seminar” was held at the Metropolitan Municipality DAVET Entrepreneurship Center.
The interest in the projects initiated by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality in order to diversify the alternative income sources of the producers is increasing day by day. Blue berry, which is a strong commercial product for both fresh consumption and processed fruit industry, has entered the production culture of farmers in the ongoing efforts in line with the rural development goals of Mayor Güler.
Between the years 2020-2022, a total of 15 saplings were supported to producers throughout the province, and blue berry production started on 575 decares.
In order to ensure the correct production of the products and to generate more income from the unit area, Prof., Faculty Member of the Horticulture Department of Ordu University Faculty of Agriculture at the Metropolitan Municipality Invitation Entrepreneurship Center. Dr. “Blue Berry Cultivation Training Seminar” was held, in which Ali İslam participated as a speaker. Blue nut producers, citizens interested in blue nut and technical personnel attended the seminar.
In the first part of the training seminar, which was held in two parts, the producers were informed about the general characteristics of the blueberry plant, climate and soil requirements, irrigation and fertilization works, and the points to be considered from planting. In the second part, views were exchanged on the observations of the producers in the field and their questions about aquaculture.
