Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, which is the lifeblood of the producers by giving unconditional support to the producers with the projects it has implemented one after the other, distributed 12 thousand olive saplings to the citizens with the ceremonies held in Sarıcakaya and Mihalgazi districts. Speaking at the ceremony held within the scope of the Closed Olive Garden Project, Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Ayşe Ünlüce said, "We are very excited and happy," and shared the good news of the Plastic Case Production Facility to be established in the Maylar neighborhood with the citizens.

Continuing to support the producers in agriculture and animal husbandry, the Metropolitan Municipality delivered 12 thousand olive saplings to the citizens with a ceremony to promote olive growing in Sarıcakaya and Mihalgazi, which are known as the Antalya of Central Anatolia with their microclimate climate and stand out with their fertile lands for vegetable and fruit growing. With the project, an olive orchard of 435 decares will be created in the Central Sakarya Valley.

Project saplings were distributed to all citizens who applied within the scope of the Close Olive Garden Project initiated by the Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has previously provided gratuitous supports such as tomato seedlings, lettuce seedlings, mulberry seedlings, small cattle and cattle support, feed, harvest, field planting, to the service of the farmer, aims to increase the development in the region with its olive growing project.

First, the olive sapling distribution ceremony was held in Mihalgazi district. Here, 20 saplings were distributed to 4 farmers as part of the Closed Olive Garden Project. With these saplings, a 30-decare olive garden will be created in the district. In the ceremony that continued with Sarıcakaya district, 146,5 thousand 49 olive saplings were given to 7 farmers and citizens who made a request. With these seedlings distributed, Sarıcakaya district will have 500 decares of olive orchard.

Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Ayşe Ünlüce, Deputy Secretary Generals Deniz Kaplan and Şenol Kara, municipal bureaucrats, farmers and citizens of Sarıcakaya and Mihalgazi attended the distribution ceremonies.

In her speech at the ceremony, Secretary General Ayşe Ünlüce said, “Our Metropolitan Mayor Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen could not be with us due to his busy schedule, but I convey his love and respect to you. These beautiful, fertile lands meet 30 percent of the vegetable needs of metropolitan cities such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we try to make our biggest agricultural grants as much as we can. We distributed tomato and lettuce seedlings. We distributed mulberry saplings in order to spread silkworm breeding both in this region and in other parts of our country. Ovine-large animal support, we provided feed support by making bales of alfalfa grown in Laçin. Today, we will start to distribute olive saplings, the symbol of peace and fertility in the world. Of course, you are not meeting with olive for the first time, you have been in production for many years. We are working with a university to find endemic species in this regard. Today, we will have distributed 69 thousand saplings to our 12 growers in Sarıcakaya and Mihalgazi. We are very happy to share the excitement of our teacher Yılmaz and us with you. Ünlüce, who gave good news to the people of the region in his speech, said, “We have seen the problems experienced by our regional producers due to the increased plastic prices, especially during the pandemic period, the exorbitant increases in the supply of plastic cases and prices. With the request from you, in order to eliminate the grievances in the supply of plastic crates and to reach a more affordable price; I would like to give the good news of our Plastic Case Production Facility, which we started to establish in Maylar district.” he said.

After the speeches, olive saplings were distributed to the farmers in Sarıcakaya and Mihalgazi districts. Stating that the farmers were very happy with the support of the olive saplings, Metropolitan Mayor Prof. Dr. They thanked Yılmaz Büyükerşen and those who contributed.
