The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that the Malatya-Hekimhan divided road connecting Malatya to Sivas will be put into service on October 22 with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu. Pointing out that the road has shortened by 3.7 kilometers compared to the current route, the Ministry underlined that the travel time will decrease by approximately 35 minutes.

The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure made a written statement about the Malatya-Hekimhan 16th Region Border Road. With the highway investments realized in Malatya, which contributes to the country's economy as a center of trade and industry; In the statement, which emphasized that the development of the city was supported by raising the road standard, it was noted that the Malatya-Hekimhan 16th Region Border Road, which was built to connect Malatya to Hekimhan district with the comfort of a divided road, will be put into service of citizens on October 22.

In the statement that the road will be opened with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, “Malatya-Hekimhan-16. The Regional Border Road will also contribute to the creation of the divided road integrity on the north-south axis of the highway network in Turkey. The physical and geometric standards of the existing road, which is located on a rough terrain that cannot meet the needs in terms of slope and width, have been raised with tunnels and bridges. We offer uninterrupted, safe and comfortable transportation to our people. With the project, the road will be shortened by 3.7 kilometers compared to the existing route. Travel time will be reduced by approximately 35 minutes.

6 TUNNELS WITH A TOTAL LENGTH OF 163 thousand 8 meters were built

In the statement, “The existing 108 km long Malatya-Hekimhan Road, which serves as the only road on the north-south axis connecting Malatya to Sivas, has been redesigned with a length of 104,3 kilometers. It has been turned into a 2×2 lane, bituminous hot mix (BSK) paved divided road. 6 tunnels with a total length of 163 thousand 8 meters and 2 bridges with a length of 398 thousand 14 meters were built on the road route established in the rough terrain structure.
