On the evening of September 9, we came together with hundreds of thousands of people with all our different colors for our country and city. Now we have to immortalize the word of unity in the multitude that millions have said together.”

“We will not send our youth anywhere”

In his speech, the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, who said, "Our duty is now more than before, our responsibility is greater than before". Tunç Soyermentioned the brain drain in the country. Soyer said, “We are laying the foundation of the Gaziemir Youth Center with such enthusiasm and faith. However, we are experiencing a great crisis that overshadows this excitement. This crisis hits children and youth the hardest. That's why most of our young people want to leave this country and establish their future abroad. We will not allow a single young person to leave this country. We will not send the bright youth, honor and hardworking spirits of this country anywhere," he said.

“We will live in health and peace”

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, calling for those who go to different countries Tunç Soyer, said: “I know that this country has the power to embrace the happiest and most productive generations on earth. But this is not by selling his streams. Not by drying up his lands. It cannot be done by fading all colors, offending the artists, impoverishing the peasants, destroying the pastures, oppressing the workers, killing the women. A nation cannot be loved by separating its people as 'us and them'. Therefore, I repeat; no one is going anywhere. Those who are gone, return. Because in this beautiful land, we will live together in peace and health.”

“Service to youth is service to the future and our independence”

Stating that they are carrying out many studies to improve the quality of life of young people in these difficult days, President Soyer touched upon some of what has been done and said: we provide. We contribute to the budget of our youth by distributing meals to 10 thousand people at six locations in İzmir Institute of Technology, Dokuz Eylül, Ege, Katip Çelebi, İzmir Democracy and Bakırçay Universities. We protect the youth of Izmir with the laundries we have established in Çiğli and Buca, the support we have started for the students, and the free wifi service we have created all along the coast. We know that protecting a country is not just about protecting its border line. Just as we protect the borders of our country, drawn with the blood of our martyrs, at the cost of our lives, we have to protect every value within that border. And without a doubt, our youth and future generations come first among these values. That is why I say that service to youth is service to the future and our independence.”
