The workshop titled “It is Possible to Live Together”, organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in order to make decisions that facilitate the life of stray animals, has started. The workshop will end with the report to be prepared after the workshops tomorrow.

The workshop "It is Possible to Live Together", organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has done exemplary work for Turkey in the care, treatment and adoption of stray animals, has started. The two-day workshop at Pako Stray Animals Social Life Campus aims to make decisions that make life easier for street animals.

HAYTAP representatives, Projects for Animals Association representatives, academics and citizens attended the opening of the workshop. Speaking at the opening, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyerstarted his speech by commemorating the citizens who lost their lives due to the explosion in the mining quarry in Bartın Amasra. Minister Tunç Soyer“As of this morning, we learned that we lost 28 lives. 13 more of our brothers are under the ground. We wish them safe recovery. Our friends are ready since last night. They are waiting to be there in case of need,” he said.

“We are not in the center of nature”

Reminding that man is not at the center of nature, but a part of nature, President Soyer said, “We need to establish a life in harmony with nature. Our Pako Stray Animals Social Life Campus is actually a place where the knowledge of this idea will be produced. These efforts made here are instrumental in the establishment of a life in harmony with nature and contribute to it.”

“We will do good work together”

Head of Projects for Animals Association Funda Bonomo, who came to the podium with a dog that was abandoned at the shelter, said, “I would like to thank our president and municipality for both putting this magnificent facility into service and organizing such a workshop for stray animals. We will do good work together," he said.

The report will be prepared

On the first day of the workshop, under the headings of “Public work for stray animals”, “Animal welfare, behavior and shelter management”, “Urban policy and planning in the context of animal rights”, “Conscious feeding and positive behavior education”, “Ideal coexistence, social communication”. ideas will be produced, suggestions will be expressed with demand.

On the second day of the workshop, organized by the Environmental Protection Control Department, Veterinary Affairs Branch and the Association of Projects for Animals, the participants discussed "What is wrong and true about animal rights", "Discussions on whether stray animals should be taken into account in city planning", "Feeding stray animals". Discussions on human and animal life”, “Social reconciliation for the welfare of human and animal life”, “Street animals as an element of social life” will hold workshops on the topics. The workshop will end with the report to be prepared after the workshops tomorrow.
