Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA was displayed with ASELSAN Miniature Bomb at the underbody station in a video shared by the Pakistan Air Force. The presence of orange-colored test ammunition in the multi-bay indicates that integration activities continue. AKINCI TİHA was previously exhibited with Miniature Bomb at TEKNOFEST 2022.
AKINCI's medium weapon station, which is suitable for carrying 2000 lb class ammunition, was also considered to be suitable for those who release multiple ammunition. The number of general purpose bombs carried by AKINCI can be increased thanks to the multiple ammunition area that ASELSAN has recently started to develop, following the Intelligent Multiple Carrying Room for Miniature Bomb. In ASELSAN's 2021 Annual Report, there was information that ASELSAN had developed a multiple ammunition release for general purpose bombs. With the ammunition saloon, two Mk-2 and Mk-82 type ammunitions can be carried in a single saloon.
According to the information obtained by Defense Turk at TEKNOFEST 2022, the mission and verification tests of the GÖZDE guidance kit had started for AKINCI TİHA by TÜBİTAK SAGE.
Test firing has already been carried out with AKINCI TİHA with MAM-C/L/T, TEBER-82, HGK-82, HGK-84, KGK-SİHA-82 and LGK-82. In the near future, AKINCI will be integrated with longer range munitions such as SOM-J cruise missiles and ÇAKIR mini cruise missiles, as well as GÖKDOĞAN and Bozdoğan air-to-air missiles.
AKINCI TİHA training of Pakistani pilots continues
Baykar Technology Leader Selçuk Bayraktar told Habertürk TV within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2022: “We have delivered 12 AKINCIs to the armed forces so far. There is also demand from abroad. We will have deliveries to Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Training continues. The training of Azerbaijani pilots is over. Training of Pakistani pilots continues. There are also tools that we use for training as prototypes. By the end of this year, probably the 20th AKINCI will be produced.” made his statements.
