China North Korea Freight Train Services Restarted After 5 Months

South Korea's Ministry of Unification, responsible for relations with the North, reported that train services between North Korea and China have resumed as of today. After 5 months, it started operating again today.

China Ministry of Foreign Affairs SözcüSu Wang Vinbin also confirmed that the flights had started at his daily meeting in Beijing, and stated that "with the consensus reached as a result of the relevant border agreements and friendly negotiations, it was decided to continue cross-border train services between the two countries."

While the North Korean government has not yet made a statement on the subject, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that a freight train with more than 10 wagons was seen on the railway connecting the city of Dandong in China's Liaoning province and Sinuiju city in the center of North Korea's Pyongan province over the Yalu River.
