Swimming and nautical trainings started by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality for children from Kadifekale on July 4 in Marina İzmir continue. Portable pools established in 7 different neighborhoods attract great attention.
In line with the goal of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer to create a sports culture in the city, 75 children from Kadifekale meet at Marina Izmir on Mondays and Thursdays to learn how to swim and to get maritime training. Training continues at full speed at the portable pools in Pazaryeri and Kadifekale in Konak, Meriç in Bornova, Yakakent in Çiğli, Leylak in Beydağ, İsmet İnönü in Menemen and Yeni Mahalle in Kiraz.
Hakan Orhunbilge, Head of Youth and Sports Services Department of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, stated that the trainings in Marina Izmir and seven different neighborhoods reached the target and said, “We will continue the project, which we started with three portable pools last year, until there are no children who cannot swim in Izmir, and we will train approximately ten thousand children. . We would like to thank our President Mr. Tunç Soyer for his support to our project. When we set out, we had a goal of transforming İzmir into a sports city and we are getting closer to that with every step.”
The trainings will end on August 31.
