Kavacık Square Gets Its New Look

Within the scope of the Kavacık Square Project carried out by the Karabağlar Municipality, the village square is rapidly gaining its new appearance.

The teams completed the infrastructure and pavement works of the square. Surrounded by pontoons, the square gained a new identity. Next, the workplaces facing the square have pergola arrangements. In this context, worn and dangerous porches will be renewed by making wood and tiles in accordance with the village texture. Facades facing the square will be completely painted and facade improvements will be provided. Again, the minaret of the mosque, which faces the village square, will be painted and necessary repairs will be made. The electricity, plumbing and floor coverings of the building, which is used as a health center, will be completely renewed. Thus, the square and its surroundings, which are flooded by thousands of people at the Kavacık Grape Festival every September, will have a brand new look.

To be completed soon

Emphasizing that the works will be completed in the near future, Karabağlar Mayor Muhittin Selvitopu said, “The works we started by taking the opinions of our citizens living in the region are progressing rapidly. After the square arrangement, our Village House works will begin. We have made an application to the Conservation Board regarding this. Afterwards, we will carry out the street façade arrangements. Kavacık will be passed on to future generations with its historical texture and agricultural richness.
