Denizli Ski Center, which was implemented by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality to have a say in the city's winter tourism, continues to increase the interest in skiing. Denizli Ski Center hosted the training camp for the first time that the students of the Faculty of Sports Sciences had to do in different cities for years.
Interest in skiing is increasing with the Metropolitan
Denizli Ski Center, one of the most important projects implemented by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, also increases the interest in skiing in the city. Denizli Ski Center, which has become one of the most preferred places for winter sports with its snow quality, hosts amateur and professional ski athletes from all over Turkey, this time Pamukkale University (PAU) Sports Center, which had to go to different cities for training camps for 13 years. It hosted the students of the Faculty of Sciences. Together with a team of 50 students from the Department of Coaching, Recreation and Sports Management, 6 academicians working at PAU held the 5-day training camp for the first time in Denizli Ski Center. Students and academicians who participated in the training camp hosted by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality thanked the Metropolitan Municipality for the opportunities and support provided to them, and expressed that they experienced the comfort and happiness of holding the training camp in Denizli, which they held in other cities in previous years.
Participants are very satisfied
PAU Faculty of Sports Sciences Faculty Member and Camp Coordinator Hüseyin Gökçe, who participated in the training camp, stated that as the Faculty of Sports Sciences, they had to organize the camp in different cities and different ski resorts for 13 years, and said, “Now we have the chance to bring our students here with better opportunities and better conditions. I would like to thank the Metropolitan Municipality and Pamukkale University for giving us this opportunity. We had the chance to ski in many facilities. Denizli residents and people living in the immediate vicinity no longer have to go to other facilities. This is a center with a variety of tracks that can serve all athletes very comfortably in terms of snowboarding and skiing," he said.
“There is a very nice layout here”
PAU Faculty of Sports Sciences Faculty Member Elif Bozyiğit said, “This is my first time coming to this center. I had been teaching for 13 years before. When I was a student, I started by getting this education from my teachers, just like my students. We went to ski centers in various parts of our country, but I really liked this place as a training. We would like to thank Denizli Metropolitan Municipality for their contributions to us.” Student Şeyma Durmuşlar said, “We are continuing our ski lesson practically here. We're having a lot of fun. It's very nice. It is more permanent for us than theoretical lessons. There is a beautiful order here. We provide adequate facilities for students. I would like to thank the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality for bringing this facility to Denizli. Because if it wasn't for this place, we would have gone to another city," he said.

Student Batuhan Yağan said, “Denizli Ski Center has been very advantageous for us, because we did not have to go to another city. In this way, it has become a more convenient and a place where everyone can participate easily. This place is very nice as a facility, I like it very much. Thanks to this place, I think I will continue to ski from now on.”
