Work continues in line with the goal of Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer to turn Izmir into a sports city. The International September 9 Izmir Half Marathon will be run on Sunday, September 5 this year. Registration, which will continue until August 29, is limited to two thousand people.
Registration has started for the International 9 September İzmir Half Marathon, which will be held for the ninth time this year. Registrations will be made at maratonizmir.org until August 29, 2021 at 18.00:XNUMX. Since participation in the event is limited to two thousand people due to the pandemic, the registration system will automatically close when the quota is full.
Athletes will be able to buy their chest numbers, chips and running t-shirts from the stands to be set up in Cumhuriyet Square between 3:4 and 2021:09.00 on September 20.00 and XNUMX, XNUMX. No chest number and running t-shirt will be distributed on the day of the competition.
Pandemic rules will be applied
The marathon will be run on the route of Cumhuriyet Square - İnciraltı - Cumhuriyet Square on Sunday, September 5th. The start of the race will be at 07.00:1,5. Distance and hygiene rules will be applied in the marathon. Entrances to the event area will be made from a single point and with fever measurement, and a social distance of XNUMX meters will be left between each athlete. While the start will be given in groups of four, there will be a gap of at least two meters between each group.
At the end of the race, general classification men and women, general classification Turkish men and Turkish women athletes, as well as 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60-64 age groups, will be awarded prizes.
