5 Metro Lines to be Opened for New Service in Istanbul

A statement was made by Mevlüt Uysal, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, to ease the residents of Istanbul. Uysal stated that 5 metro stations will be put into service until December.

Out of 267 lines with 17 kilometers of construction in progress, 150.4 of 13 kilometers of length are constructed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and 116.6 of 4 kilometers of length are carried out by the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications. The length of the subway line, which is in the tender stage, is 19.4 kilometers.

TARGET 100 THOUSAND IS

In Istanbul 2018 - 2019, the total metro length will reach 355.45 kilometers. After 2023, the target in the rail system in Istanbul is 100 thousand kilometers.

With the new lines planned, the metro will be connected to Sabiha Gökçen from Silivri, Çatalca, Yeniköy and Third Airport via Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge. Metro lines will be integrated with Ankara and Edirne high-speed train lines.

On both sides of the Bosphorus, Beşiktaş will continue with Sarıyer and Harem Beykoz Tokatköy line. After Marmaray, both sides of Istanbul will be connected to the sea by the 3 metro line. One of the new planned routes is Kandilli – Arnavutköy and the second one is Kavacık 4. Levent and Yavuz Sultan will be the rail system line on Selim Bridge.

THIS YEAR WILL BE OPENED IN THE 5 LINE

Üsküdar - Ümraniye - Çekmeköy - Sancaktepe Metro of the 2. 7-kilometer Umraniye (Yamanevler) - Çekmeköy line, which has a stage and consists of 9.5 stations. (2018 will open at the end of June)

Mecidiyekoy - Kagithane - Alibeykoy - Mahmutbey Metro (18 kilometers, 15 station)

The part of Dudullu - Kayışdağı - İçerenköy - Bostancı Metro from Bostancı İDO to IMES. (10.2 mileage, 9 station)

Eminönü - Eyüpsultan - Alibeyköy Tram (10.1 kilometer, 14 station)
