Poetic Photographs from Tokyo Metro: German photographer Michael Wolf books the photos he took during the Tokyo subway at the busiest hours under the name 'Tokyo Compression'.

German photographer Michael Wolf took a poetic photograph in the crowded Tokyo subway station, which has been shot at the busiest hours since 2010.

In Wolf's book titled 'Tokyo Compression', the states of people traveling by sticking to the windows of the subway or to other passengers are reflected.

Wolf, who shot the Shimo-Kitazawa station between 2010-2013 in succession, said, “Every time I went for four weeks and returned with more impressive photos. I was waiting there in the morning at work. A train passes in 80 seconds, I have 30 seconds to take photos. ”

“Nowhere other than the subway, we have such close contact with a neighbor beyond our will. This is the place of human surpluses: pain, sadness, anxiety, anger and madness forced forced jamming. ”Wolf believes that people in the subway meditate in that cramped state.
