High Speed Train Coming to 2023 Cities Until 29: With the opening of Ankara-Konya “High Speed Train” Line, the eyes were turned into other high speed train projects. By 2023, 29 cities will be connected by high-speed train. In addition to the Ankara-Istanbul, Ankara-Konya and Ankara-Sivas lines, which were put into service and under construction, the construction of the 5 thousand 731 kilometer high-speed train line will begin. In 2023, the total length of the high-speed train line in Turkey will reach 10 thousand kilometers. The period of about 1.5 days in Edirne-Kars 4 to 1 ratio will be reduced to 8 hours and can be done to Turkey's journey from one end to another.
The Ankara-Istanbul Fast Train Project, which is still under construction, will be completed in 2013, and the construction of the Ankara-Sivas line will be completed in 2015. TCDD aims to increase the average speed of the train to 5 kilometers by making a conventional line of 160 thousand kilometers alongside the high speed train lines.
COST 45 BILLION DOLLAR
The total cost of the high-speed train lines planned by the Ministry of Transport until 2023 is $ 45 billion. Approximately $ 30 billion of this amount will be realized with Chinese credit. The rest will be financed by the European Investment Bank and the Islamic Development Bank.
