Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu met with United Arab Emirates Minister of Investment Mohamed Bin Hassan Al Suwaidi in Istanbul.
Underlining that Turkey and the United Arab Emirates are evaluating the work to be done to achieve a higher level of efficiency from this project due to their strategic locations, Minister Uraloğlu said, “The United Arab Emirates also attaches great importance to the Development Road Project. "This project is the most economical, safest and most efficient way to connect with European and Asian markets," he said.
"WE WILL HOLD A QUADRUPLE MINISTRY SUMMIT"
Reminding that they signed a quadruple agreement with the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Iran for the Development Road project in Iraq under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister Uraloğlu said, “We have been discussing the project with Iraq for a long time. With the agreement we signed, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar were also included in this business. The United Arab Emirates will also make great contributions to the financing, cargo supply and operation of this project. In this sense, we had a productive meeting with my counterpart. In the coming period, we will hold a quadruple ministerial summit with our counterparts from the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Qatar. “We will continue our cooperation in the Development Road project.” he said.
Stating that they also discussed cooperation and new business opportunities in the field of transportation between Turkey and the United Arab Emirates during the meeting, Minister Uraloğlu said that they thoroughly discussed the economic and commercial steps to be taken between the two countries, the diversification of mutual trade and potential cooperation.
