VAT Regulation in the Official Gazette

With the regulation, the VAT rate for the food and beverages prepared and served by businesses such as restaurants, cafes and patisseries, and the products they procure and sell from outside, was increased from 8 percent to 10 percent.

This rate was increased from 18 percent to 20 percent for alcoholic beverages.

Sales made by these businesses by phone, online order or pick-up method will also be evaluated within the same scope.

Sales made in businesses that provide food and beverage services to their customers, although they do not have a license for food and beverage services, will also be within the scope of the regulation.

The communiqué will come into force as of May 1.
