Call for 'Urgent Support' for Sports in Antalya Muratpaşa

Representing Antalya in the Vodafone Sultans League, one of the most ambitious leagues of women's volleyball in the world, Muratpaşa Belediyesi Sigorta Shop finished the league in 32th place with 8 points, in which it competed for the first time.

The team that advances to the play-offs will compete in the Play-Off 5th and 8th place stages, where the classification matches are determined.

However, Mayor Uysal stated that team costs have tripled during the year and that this financial statement is not sustainable within the current sponsorship structure and other supports. Uysal underlined that the team, which played its matches to full stands at the 2-seat Süleyman Temizmen Sports Hall, made a significant contribution to the brand value of Antalya, which also has a significant share in sports tourism.

Calling on Antalya to support the team by the end of this week at the latest in order for this to continue to grow, President Uysal said, “I make an open invitation to all institutions, organizations and private representatives of our Antalya for all kinds of sponsorships, even naming rights. "We are open to all kinds of negotiations as Antalya has an assertive representative in the Sultans League and women's volleyball continues to bring the best players in the world to the Antalya audience," he said.

Mayor Uysal added that the process should be determined as soon as possible and that institutions, organizations and private sector representatives who want to support should notify their decisions by the end of this week.
