Mayor Hürriyet: “We Will Continue Our Way Without Discriminating Anyone”

Izmit Municipality keeps the spirit of Ramadan alive all over the city. Izmit Municipality hosts a thousand people a day at a free iftar table with the Mobile Soup Kitchen located in Anıtpark. Izmit residents show great interest in the practice, which will continue until the end of Ramadan. Izmit Mayor Fatma Kaplan had an iftar meal with citizens at Mobile Soup Kitchen in Hürriyet.

“WE HAVE BEEN SETTING UP RAMADAN TABLES FOR 3 YEARS”

Speaking at the iftar program, Mayor Hürriyet said, “I wish you a happy Ramadan. We had the pleasure of sharing our table with you this evening. We always try to meet with our people. We have been setting Ramadan tables for 3 years. This year we increased our tables even more. We had the chance to reach more people. We established our first soup kitchen and now we have a mobile soup kitchen.

“WE WILL NOT EXPERIENCE POWER POISONING”

We have been providing iftar meals since the first day of Ramadan. These tables are open to everyone. May our tables be fruitful. May we be able to reach the holiday. We are in the first evening of the second term. We will continue to work with all our strength in the new period. I would like to thank all the people of Izmit who supported us. Your support is very valuable to us. We will never act spoiled and arrogant. We are the president of 400 thousand people. We will continue on our way without singling out anyone. "We will not experience power poisoning," he said.
