New Mexico State Police and Arizona Department of Public Safety announced that Interstate 40 was closed to traffic in both directions and drivers were directed to alternative routes from the highway.

BNSF Railway company stated that debris cleaning efforts were continuing, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the accident was being investigated.
