Erkan Aydın, the candidate of the Republican People's Party, who won the election in the Osmangazi Mayor race, also took over the post of Osmangazi Mayor after receiving his certificate of registration.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın said, “We have known our president Mustafa since the time of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association and he is someone we have always loved. We have always been like brothers and sisters. We held consultations on every issue related to the nation's problems. The purpose of these works is to leave a trace behind. Of course, the mayoralty will be busy. We will benefit from my president's valuable experiences. There is only one purpose here. He did beautiful works, my president. May God grant us the ability to leave behind beautiful works. We have been in this business for about 25 years. In my political life, I always won while losing. I lost one term and won the other term. I hope we can provide good services together with our entire team. Osmangazi is the heart of Bursa, and Bursa is the apple of Turkey's eye. We will also work hard. We will work to make people living in Osmangazi and Bursa laugh. “I also thank you for your kind hosting,” he said.
Speaking at the mayor's office, former Osmangazi Mayor Mustafa Dündar said, “We have had an election process for 2 months. We had an intense and beautiful process. We met with President Erkan for the third time and during this process we met with mutual respect. After all, you go to the polls and the citizens have the final say. As we kept saying that we were in office again after leaving the ballot box, the public always looked at us as a guarantee, but this is what the ballot box says, whatever the citizens say is above our heads. "We wish our President Erkan good luck in his new position," he said.
Noting that being a mayor is a very difficult task, Dündar said, “Being a mayor is not like being a deputy. In the presidency, you integrate with the people and become part of the family. Osmangazi is a big family. It is very important to be elected to such a position in Osmangazi. Bursa is a city of history and culture. Therefore, if you do the right job while providing services here, your future will be opened. I always say that Bursa is a city of foundations. We have always continued our services within the framework of this responsibility. In line with these features, we have done great things. Osmangazi is a big family, we stand behind our new president, we are always together.” said.
After the speeches, former mayor Mustafa Dündar presented the municipality seal to Mayor Aydın. Mayor Aydin, who received the seal, started his duty as Mayor of Osmangazi.
