Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. took action for the bread increase promise he made during the election process. Cemil Tugay's first instruction after the holiday was about Halk Ekmek. Tugay reduced the price of bread from 7 TL to 5 TL again. Mayor Tugay said, “120 thousand breads to be produced daily will be sold for 93 TL in our kiosks operating at 5 points of our city with the first shipments tomorrow morning. "We will get through these difficult days together," he said.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay fulfilled his promise of a price reduction in Halk Ekmek, which he promised before the March 31 local elections. Public Bread Factory, affiliated with Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Grand Plaza Gıda Turizm A.Ş., will offer the bread offered for sale at 7 TL to the people of Izmir for 16 TL as of Tuesday, April 5. President Dr. Cemil Tugay said:
“The economic difficulties experienced in our country have reduced purchasing power and put our citizens in financial difficulties. We have withdrawn the prices at Halk Ekmek in order to ease the budgets by reducing these difficulties to some extent and to provide convenience to our citizens who have difficulty in purchasing bread, which is indispensable for the tables. 120 thousand breads to be produced daily will be sold for 93 TL in our kiosks operating at 5 locations in our city, with the first shipments tomorrow morning.
