In his statement on the occasion of World Stray Animals Day, Büyükkılıç stated that they continue to take care of stray animals and said, “We strive to support our dear friends, who are an indispensable part of social life in Kayseri, to ensure their right to live and to live peacefully in our city. Over the past 5 years, we have brought injured or needy animals to our shelter and provided their care and treatment. "We also carry out procedures such as vaccination and neutering of animals," he said.

Underlining that they have brought a new animal shelter for both cats and dogs to the city for stray animals, Mayor Büyükkılıç said, “Our second animal shelter, new, modern and suitable for today's conditions, for both cats and dogs will also be put into practice. "Our new facility, which will be built separately for both cats and dogs, will consist of many units such as walking areas, playgrounds, social facilities, a waiting room for animal lovers, a parking lot and a neutering center," he said.
