A police officer went crazy at Altınşehir Police Station, located in the center of Adıyaman, for an unknown reason.
8 police officers were injured in the incident. While many ambulances were dispatched to the police station, among the injured police officers, Public Security Branch Directorate Team Chief Gökhan Özbek and Police Headquarters Chief Kamuran Üçgöl, who were in serious condition, could not be saved and were martyred despite all the interventions made in the hospital.
The perpetrator of the incident, Police Officer SUS, was shot in the leg by the personnel on duty, neutralized and taken into custody.
A large-scale investigation into the incident is ongoing.
On the other hand, in the written statement made by Adıyaman Governorship, "Our Police Station Chief (K.Ü) and our Team Chief (G.Ö), who were transferred to the hospital with serious injuries, unfortunately could not be saved despite all the interventions made in the hospital and were martyred. May God have mercy on our martyrs who lost their lives in the incident, and we wish patience and condolences to their grieving families. "A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated regarding the issue."
Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya also published a condolence message on his social media account.
