Kosgeb Support Provides Lifeline to the Disaster Region

Within the scope of the project carried out in cooperation with the World Bank and KOSGEB, all of the 6 billion TL financing for businesses in 11 provinces affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes that occurred on February 12.8 was transferred to the businesses in the region.

After this financing was transferred to the region, a 4.2 billion TL Loan Agreement was signed between KOSGEB and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). With the agreement, the Post-Earthquake Support Project for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises was put into practice. Payments continue to be made to businesses whose applications have been approved.

Evaluating the support provided by KOSGEB to the earthquake region from international funds, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Kacır stated that the support that started from the first moments of the earthquake will continue.

Noting that the support to revive the businesses damaged after the earthquake continues, Minister Kacır said, “As the Ministry, we are working on providing new financing sources with international organizations. From November 15, 2023 until today, in cooperation with the World Bank and JICA; "Within the scope of the Turkey Post-Earthquake Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Revival Support Program, KOSGEB has provided 11 billion TL support to 51 thousand 927 businesses in 16.7 provinces so far." said.

In the news on the official website of the Ministry, women entrepreneurs who benefited from the financial support provided by international funds through KOSGEB explained the process of rebuilding their damaged businesses.
