“Celebrate April 23 with great enthusiasm”

Emphasizing that the only way for Turkey to become a part of the modern world is to follow in Ataturk's footsteps, Prof. Dr. Celal Şengör said, “Atatürk saved the nation from servitude and gave sovereignty to the nation. He says that authority belongs to the nation, that is why he opened the National Assembly, to make decisions as a nation. He faces many difficulties and opposing views in the Parliament, but despite all the difficulties, Atatürk does not dissolve the Parliament. He says, 'Okay, the sultan is gone, but the nation is there, we will ask the nation.' Ataturk tried to spread industry to Anatolia. The sugar factory is in Turhal, the weapons and ammunition factory is in Kırıkkale. Atatürk wanted Anatolian people to find jobs, work, and get to know the modern world. They destroyed them all, today our country cannot make paper because they closed Seka. Paper is an imported product. Today, you can no longer eat the corn I ate in my childhood. We are eating the infamous corn of the USA. They destroyed our agriculture. We wait for months to get a visa, we did not have a visa when we were students. "They don't give visas now," he said, asking those who came to listen to him to continue to uphold Ataturk's principles and to celebrate April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day with great enthusiasm on April 23, the anniversary of the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
