The number of people who lost their lives is increasing in the fire that broke out on the ground floor of the 16-storey building used as a workplace, located on Gönenoğlu Street in Gayrettepe District of Beşiktaş district in Istanbul.

Fire crews affiliated with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality continue to intervene at the scene.

Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğluWhile expressing his sadness for those who lost their lives in the fire in Gayrettepe, he said that the intense efforts of the fire brigades continue.

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül also inspected the scene after the fire at the workplace.

Making a statement to the press, Governor Gül said, “The treatment of our injured continues in hospitals. All our friends are here. “My condolences to all of us.” said.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, and received information about the fire that broke out in an entertainment center in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya, in his post on his social media account, stated that an administrative investigation was launched regarding the fire and 2 civil inspectors were assigned, and said, “Our inspectors arrived at the scene. “We will continue to share developments on the issue with the public.” he said.
