Following the local elections on March 31, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Council convened for the first time under the chairmanship of Mayor Mustafa Bozbey for the first term ordinary meeting of the 2024-2029 election period. 106 of 105 council members attended the meeting held at the Metropolitan Municipality Council Meeting Hall.

Speaking at the opening of the Assembly Meeting, Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Bozbey congratulated the mayor and council members elected in the new term. He called on the Mayors of 17 districts in Bursa and said, "I invite all of us to join hands and experience a period worthy of Bursa." Stating that they will take important decisions together in the Metropolitan Municipality Council that will carry Bursa to the future, Mayor Bozbey said, “I have full faith that the work we will do in the new period will carry our city to good days. We can achieve this by working together in harmony. Our duty is to respect the people's choice and produce services for this city in harmony. We have a great responsibility in this parliament where we are the representatives of the people. All 17 mayors in Bursa are our mayors. I invite all 17 mayors to cooperate and join hands to experience a period worthy of Bursa. We may have different world views, we may have different political views, but I am sure that everyone here has one goal and that is to serve our city and our country. For this reason, I firmly believe that all parties in the Parliament will work in harmony here. "We have no doubt about anyone's good will. Of course, we will make mistakes. It is our responsibility to the people of Bursa to warn each other and ensure that the mistakes are corrected," he said.

ELECTION MARATHON IN THE ASSEMBLY

In the first session of the new term of the Metropolitan Municipality Council, there was intense election traffic. Voting was held in the parliament for deputy presidents, council members and specialized commissions.

Oktay Yılmaz was elected as the first vice president with 58 votes, and Alper Taban was elected as the second vice president with 58 votes. The council clerks were Armağan Elçin and Ahmet Alper Aydın. Bülent Kandemir, Ali Sait Adiloğlu, Armağan Elçin, Ali Zeybek, İsmail Şenol were elected as board members.
