Great Transformation in Bursa

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and People's Alliance Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor candidate Alinur Aktaş, who shared his projects that will make Bursa more livable with the public, said that urban transformation is an important topic. Explaining that the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, which were the disaster of the century, hit everyone's hearts like a coal and that the pain is still fresh, Mayor Alinur Aktaş stated that the earthquake is an indisputable fact, especially for cities built on active fault lines such as Bursa. Stating that this fact imposes serious responsibilities on everyone, especially local governments, Mayor Aktaş reminded that they carried out joint projects with TÜBİTAK and Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA before the February 6 earthquakes.

“WE STARTED OUR PROJECTS”
Stating that they have seen once again that it is the right decision to give priority to urban transformation, Mayor Aktaş said, “We discuss urban transformation works under 4 topics: residential areas, historical areas, manufacturing and industrial areas and public spaces and structures. While some people have never done urban transformation in their life, they are talking about urban transformation these days. Thank God, we have the work we do. In the past period, we started our work in areas with priority for transformation of approximately 530 thousand buildings and 1 million independent units in Bursa. We started our projects all over Bursa, from Istanbul Street to Karapınar, from Akpınar-1050 Residences to Arabayatağı, from Hotsu-Gaziakdemir to Yiğitler and the historical city center. We complete it one by one. "With our 14 different transformation projects, we will have delivered 2025 thousand houses to their beneficiaries by the end of 11," he said.

“WE WILL CARRY THE QUALITY OF THE CITY TO THE HIGHER LEVEL”
Stating that the '2050 Environmental Plan' will constitute the main axis of the work and that they will put the plan into effect as the city constitution with academic contributions, common sense and consensus, Mayor Aktaş said that they continue to work together with JICA, our scientific board consisting of academics who are experts in their fields, and academic chambers. Stating that they will continue urban transformation works in priority areas throughout Bursa without slowing down, Mayor Aktaş said, “We are implementing our urban transformation project of 100 thousand houses in order to build Bursa, a more accessible and greener resilient city in the new period. With this transformation, we will not only strengthen the structures and ensure the safety of life and property of our citizens, but also connect the arteries within the city, open new roads, and raise the quality of the city to the next level with green areas and equipment areas. "We will carry out these works with the power of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Burkent, TOKİ and our private sector," he said.
