Şadi Özdemir: Bursa Should Transition to High Technology Industry

CHP Nilüfer Mayor Candidate Şadi Özdemir was the guest of Bursa Engineers and Architects Businessmen Association (BUMİAD).

At the event attended by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey, Özdemir explained his projects to business people.

Answering the questions of the participants, Şadi Özdemir stated that Nilüfer is a rapidly developing region and receives immigrants, and noted that the problems are increasing along with it.

CHP Nilüfer Mayor Candidate Şadi Özdemir stated that he cares about qualitative growth, not quantitative growth, and said, “There are many organized industrial zones in Nilüfer. A new industrial zone step should not be taken anymore. Nilüfer is a city of culture and arts, a city with a high quality of entertainment and life. People want and will want to live in Nilüfer, no matter where their workplace is. For Bursa, the medium technology industry should be abandoned and the high technology industry should be taken into consideration. We must ensure qualitative growth for the industry by encouraging high technology. It is necessary to work with stakeholders to reveal a social story on this issue. Everyone will be disturbed by this intensity. All the negativity here reflects on everyone. We must stop the migration to Nilüfer. "We will manage this city with common sense," he said.

Stating that the urban transformation carried out in Nilüfer is not correct, Özdemir stated that Bursa Metropolitan Municipality took wrong steps in this regard.

Özdemir said, “Urban transformation should be in a different model. Priorities had to be taken into consideration. Since the profit margin is high in Nilüfer, everyone's eyes are on this place. Ataevler District will become uninhabitable in the future. It is easy to take precautions in newly built areas, but it is very difficult to take steps in places where density has increased and there is unplanned development. Green areas, social facilities, infrastructure and public areas need to be planned well. We must prevent unplanned urbanization by protecting agricultural areas. We do not favor unqualified urban transformation. "We must take radical steps with new adjacent areas," he said.

At the end of the night, BUMIAD Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mustafa Gümüş, gave a plaque of appreciation to Şadi Özdemir, who gave sincere answers to the questions of the participants, and wished him success in his work.
