According to the statement of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, work on the Mersin-Adana-Osmaniye-Gaziantep High Speed Train Line Project continues rapidly and the project is aimed to be completed in 2027.
With the completion of this project: travel time between Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye and Gaziantep will be significantly shortened. Freight transportation in the region will also become faster and more efficient. It will contribute to the economic development of the region.
Uraloğlu also announced that plans are being made to extend the project from Gaziantep to Şanlıurfa, Ovaköy and Fav Port via Iraq. With the completion of this project, the connection between southeastern Turkey and Iraq will be significantly strengthened.
Minister Uraloğlu said that an evaluation was made to run a suburban line between Adana and Adana OIZ and they thought this might be possible. With the completion of this line, transportation to the OIZ will become easier and faster for those living in Adana.
