Minister Tekin Appreciated Education Investments in Izmir

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, who made contacts in Izmir, made evaluations about the education investments in the city at the Alsancak Train Station Meeting Hall.

Explaining that they held the "Teachers' Chamber Meetings" on the first Saturday of every month in Izmir with 300 teachers from different provinces of Turkey, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin said that very important investments were made in the field of education, the number of classrooms and the number of teachers compared to the 2002-2003 academic year. and others stated that numerical indicators were at least doubled. Minister Tekin stated that the General Elections of Local Governments, which will be held at the end of this month, concern the Ministry of National Education very closely, and pointed out that education investments proceed very smoothly in places where local administrators support them. Stating that there are 90 projects included in the investment program in Izmir and in the tender or construction process, Tekin said, “Some of these projects are ongoing, some are in the tender process, some have been put out to tender, and the problems related to zoning, construction and license are expected to be solved. Therefore, when the process regarding the investments we mentioned is completed, a total of 1907 classrooms will be added to the number of classrooms in Izmir.” he said.

Music Primary School, Secondary School and High School Project for Izmir

Stating that the cost of 90 projects is approximately 6 billion 800 million liras, Tekin continued his words as follows: “In 2024, we included a total of 956 new school projects corresponding to 23 classrooms for Izmir in our investment program. I hope that it will bring good luck to the people of Izmir and the educational community that eagerly awaits and follows the education process in Izmir. In addition, within the scope of the earthquake, earthquake strengthening works have started in 17 schools in total in 2023, which corresponds to 329 classrooms. We will complete them too. We are including 48 schools that need to be retrofitted against earthquakes in the retrofit process. Their equivalent for classrooms is 683.” Noting that with the completion of these, the number of classrooms in Izmir will exceed approximately 33 thousand, Tekin said that they will plan the music primary, secondary school and high school project, which they will implement in Ankara, in Izmir as well.

Gastronomy high school project in Izmir

Tekin stated that, as the Ministry, they have taken important measures to solve the problem of middle staff in vocational education, and that they will launch the first of the gastronomy high schools they plan to establish throughout Turkey in Istanbul in the 2024-2025 academic year. Stating that they want to plan the second example of this in Izmir if a suitable location is provided, Tekin said, “One of our philanthropists undertook its production. "If a location that meets the conditions we hope can be produced outside of our investment program, we will implement it." said.
