Applications Will Be Received for E-Scooter Operations

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has started to receive applications for companies that want to operate electric scooters (e-scooters) within the provincial borders. Operators must submit their documents by Friday, April 05, 2024.

APPLICATIONS WILL BE RECEIVED

In line with the Electric Scooter Regulation, the application conditions for companies whose permits expired on 26 August 2023 to obtain e-scooter permits and the number of e-scooters to be allowed in the districts according to population data were determined by the UKOME Decision dated 29 February 2024 and numbered 2024/01-42. Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has started to receive applications for companies that want to operate electric scooters (e-scooters) within the provincial borders.

DEADLINE 05 APRIL 2024

With the decision of UKOME, the e-scooter speed limit on the coastline throughout Kocaeli was determined as 15 km. The decision requires the construction of an e-scooter station. E-scooter stations will need to be located for parking in areas with intense pedestrian circulation and in areas where street width is not sufficient. Operators who want to apply in this direction must apply to Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department between 18 March 2024 and 05 April 2024.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

During the application, companies that will operate shared e-scooters are asked for an authorization certificate from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, a signature circular, the Trade Registry Gazette, an application petition, the number of e-scooters in the districts, the locations of the stops and a letter of undertaking.

10 THOUSAND 515 SCHOOTERS WILL BE ALLOWED

In line with the relevant directive, this year 2037 in Gebze, 1893 in İzmit, 1139 in Darıca, 901 in Körfez, 887 in Gölcük, 767 in Çayırova, 732 in Derince, 711 in Kartepe, 606 in Başiskele, 300 scooters will be allowed throughout Kocaeli, including 272 in Karamürsel, 269 in Dilovası, and 10 in Kandıra.
