Piganzoli Won Tour Of Antalya 2024

While Hartthijs de Vries from the TDT Unibet team won the stage with 4 hours 16 minutes 08 seconds, the champion of the Tour of Antalya 2024 was Davide Piganzoli from the Polti – Kometa team, who won the climbing stage on the third day and rose to first place in the general classification.

With the start from Antalya Aquarium at 11.05, 155 athletes started pedaling for the Antalya-Antalya stage. There were no breaks in the first 5 kilometers. As the 20 kilometers passed, it was seen that some athletes were left behind as the peloton increased its speed during the descent. Again, it was observed that there was no major escape. The 26th kilometer was passed collectively.

As we were 30 kilometers behind, it was seen that the peloton did not allow minor escapes. 57.4 as the group moves towards the Isparta ring road. He moved towards the sprint gate, which took place at the kilometer.

6 ATHLETES ESCAPED WHILE APPROACHING THE PRIME GATE

Lucas de Rossi from China Glory team, Mauro Verwilt from Tarteletto team, Dominik Amann from Vorarlberg team, Emir Uzun from Sakarya team, Sebastien Niehues and Paul Wright from Rembe Pro Cycling Team Sauerland team got ahead of the peloton with a 1-minute difference. Later, the difference increased to 2 minutes and 13 seconds. While passing 50 kilometers, the average speed of the athletes was given as 44 kilometers per hour.

SPRINT BONUS RESULTS

At the 57.4th kilometer, the first athlete to pass the sprint bonus gate, sponsored by Diana Travel, was Mauro Verwilt from the Tarteletto team. The second place went to Lucas de Rossi from the China Glory team, and the third place went to Dominik Amann from the Vorarlberg team. After passing the gate, the difference increased significantly and reached 2 minutes and 50 seconds. As the 62nd kilometer was passed in this way, the Burdur provincial border was entered.

A minor accident occurred while passing the Million Ancient City. Peloton did not suffer any losses in this accident, the time remained the same.

Before reaching the gate, 5 more athletes left the race near Kocaaliler Village. Thus, the number of cyclists continuing the race decreased to 150. Since the beginning of the race, 24 cyclists have withdrawn from the organization. The bonus gate for the Orange Jersey, sponsored by Corendon Airlines, was passed at the 92.2nd kilometer.
