Karabağlar Municipality's Atatürk Youth and Sports Center, which will be one of the exemplary facilities of Izmir, is nearing completion. The center, which will undertake an important task in keeping children and young people away from bad habits, draws attention with its modern architecture and hosting many sports branches. Karabağlar Mayor Muhittin Selvitopu, who inspected the works on site, emphasized that they were happy to bring such a center to Izmir.
Emphasizing that the construction of the Atatürk Youth and Sports Center is continuing rapidly in line with the determined program and that a beautiful facility that suits Izmir has emerged, Mayor Selvitopu said, “Especially our children and young people, who are the assurance of our future, will use this place intensively. It will have an important function in helping them stay away from bad habits. "Considering that approximately 100 thousand people visit our Nasreddin Hodja Children's Cultural Center and Aqua Life Pools in the region every year, Atatürk Youth and Sports Center will also host hundreds of thousands of people," he said.
Stating that the center will be brought to Karabağlar in July or August, Mayor Selvitopu said, “We are very happy to be completing this facility, which will add value not only to our district but also to Izmir. "I would like to thank everyone who contributed wholeheartedly," he said.
FOOTBALL FIELD HAS EMERGED
Atatürk Youth and Sports Center, which is under construction on 32 decares in Uzundere Recreation Area, has indoor and outdoor areas where official sports matches can be played and for many branches. In the open area, there is a football field covered with a steel system and a tribune with a capacity of 3 thousand spectators. The green texture of the field where artificial grass was laid emerged. The facility also has 3 outdoor basketball courts and a tennis court that meets standards.
Both gyms include a heated semi-Olympic swimming pool, a children's training pool, and areas suitable for branches such as basketball, volleyball, handball, judo, taekwondo, gymnastics and wrestling. The building will also have conditioning/training rooms for athletes, dressing-locker rooms, sports equipment sales point, recreation areas, cafeteria, amateur sports club rooms, referee room, and emergency response room.
