Home Textile Industry Focused on Hometex Fair

BTSO 5th and 30th Professional Committee Extended Sectoral Analysis Meeting was hosted by Bursa Business School. At the meeting, in addition to the work done by the committees, a briefing was given about the sector-oriented organizations of KFA Fuarcılık company. BTSO President İbrahim Burkay said that as BTSO, they held extended sectoral analysis meetings for every professional group and the foundations of many important projects were laid in these programs.

President Burkay shared the vision of BTSO's reference training center, Bursa Business School (BBS), with the participants. Stating that they have re-planned the Kirazlıyayla Sanatorium as a strong transformation center for the actors of the business world, Mayor Burkay said that they were inspired by world examples in the field of lifelong education such as Harvard Business School, INSEAD and Wilton Park. President Burkay stated that they made strategic partnership agreements in education with the leading universities of Turkey and the world within the scope of high-level organizations held at the center and said, “Our companies, non-governmental organizations and universities will use the infrastructure of Bursa Business School. With the high-level meetings to be held here, our business world representatives will master the codes of the new economy and become more ready for competition with up-to-date information. “They will focus on new trade opportunities with the vision they have gained and the business network they will have.” said.

“HOMETEX FAIR OPENS THE SECTOR TO THE WORLD”
Stating that fairs are indispensable for marketing activities, Mayor Burkay stated that the products produced must meet the right buyers. In his speech, İbrahim Burkay said that the HOMETEX Fair, which will be held on 21-25 May 2024 in cooperation with TETSİAD and KFA Fuarcılık, makes a significant contribution to the exports of the sector. Stating that HOMETEX Fair makes a serious contribution to the Turkish home textile industry having a say in the world, President Burkay said, “We have to continue by increasing the quality of this fair. The most important asset of a fair is its visitor profile. Enriching this profile is the most important outcome for the success of the fair. At this point, everyone, including our exporter associations, focused on this fair. We organize purchasing delegations within the scope of the fair, and we mobilized our network abroad for the development of the fair. “The fair in May will give serious messages and guide the way for our industry.” said.

“WE SHOULD FOCUS ON FOREIGN TRADE”
Mayor Burkay gave the message, "Sector representatives working in the domestic market should focus on foreign trade during this period" and asked companies to benefit from BTSO's efforts to increase foreign trade volume. Stating that they organized overseas programs in different geographies of the world last year within the scope of the Global Fair Agency Project, Burkay said: “We organize international programs for every sector. However, after these business trips are made, it is necessary to have a stable presence in those markets. We must focus on foreign trade. Today, 24 percent of Türkiye's economy comes from foreign trade. Our biggest priority is to enable SMEs to open up to the world.”

TETSIAD PRESIDENT BAYRAM: “BURSA IS VALUABLE FOR US”
TETSİAD President Hasan Hüseyin Bayram said that, as TETSİAD, they attach great importance to Bursa. Noting that TETSİAD is a large non-governmental organization with more than 30 members in 1.300 provinces, especially Istanbul, Bursa and Denizli, Bayram touched upon the importance of HOMETEX Fair. Emphasizing that HOMETEX, which started in a hotel hall, has become a world brand that directs the sector, Bayram said, “We are holding our fair in 11 halls today. We are also carrying out the necessary work to expand the fair area. "HOMETEX will continue to contribute to the foreign trade volume of our industry," he said. Explaining that they have created a digital platform as TETSİAD, Bayram said, “As TETSİAD, we have developed a digital application. This application is very important for the home textile industry. “Our home textile companies should definitely benefit from the advantages of this platform.” said.

BTSO 5th Professional Committee Chairman Davut Gürkan thanked BTSO Chairman İbrahim Burkay for bringing an important center like BBS to Turkey and Bursa. Stating that the home textile industry is an indispensable value of the country's economy, Gürkan said, “Our Turkish home textile industry is a strong sector that exports over 200 billion dollars annually to nearly 3 countries and provides the highest added value to the national income by managing to increase the average export value per kilogram to over 8 dollars.” gained sector identity. “I believe that our companies will continue to contribute to our country's export-oriented development goals at the highest level with the proactive policies implemented by our state in consultation with our business world.” said.

30th Professional Committee Chairman Burak Anıl thanked all committee members who attended the meeting. Stating that Turkey is going through a difficult period, Anıl stated that the textile industry is also affected by this process. Noting that important steps have been taken to solve the problems of the sector under the umbrella of BTSO, Anıl said, “The opinions of our committee members are important to us.
