Youth and Women Priority in the Disaster Area

While the Akbank Beautiful Tomorrows Movement, which it carries out simultaneously, supports the education and career journeys of young people, Akbank Transformation Academy contributes to the social and financial development of all SMEs, especially women entrepreneurs, with its activities.

Akbank implemented social financing models that prioritize the disaster area with the Sustainable Financing Framework it updated after the disaster. Thus, in a one-year period, approximately 170 thousand Akbank SMEs and businesses benefited from socially themed sustainable financing solutions. With its social-themed financing model, Akbank continues to support businesses in disaster areas to overcome this difficult process.

Additionally, within the scope of the Sustainable Financing Framework, Akbank also implemented Turkey's first socially themed syndicated loan. Thus, 500 million dollars were created to finance the foreign trade transactions of Akbank businesses affected by the earthquake.

With Akbank Transformation Academy, the bank offers training programs on e-commerce, e-export, social media management and marketing to SMEs, especially women entrepreneurs and young SMEs in the region. Thus, while supporting entrepreneurs and SMEs in carrying their businesses to the future, it also serves the development of employment and the development of the region.

Akbank focuses on responding to young people's financial health and social needs by prioritizing them during the post-disaster recovery process.

In this context, approximately 16 thousand young people affected by the earthquakes benefited from financial solutions by participating in the 'University Student Akbank' program.
